LAS CUEVAS DEL CANALOBRE

A large beautiful cave with magnificent rock formations. A nice route is to drive there via Jijona and return via Busot. Splendid panoramic views down the coast past Alicante.

EL HUERTO DEL CURA

Part of the Palmeral in Elche , this is a place of peace and tranquility. A free audio guide is included which explains about the history of the garden and the origins of the different palms. A real gem.

MAR MENOR

The Mar Menor is an inland sea almost totally landlocked but still with access to the Mediterranean. Calm water with safe sandy beaches. Loads of places worth a visit including San Pedro del Pinatar, Santiago de la Riberera, Los Alcázares and of course the famous resort of La Manga.

TRAIN TO ALICANTE

Let the train take the strain. Catch the regular local train from San Isidro (well sign-posted just off the AP-7 Junction 733 and free parking) right to Alicante city centre. A pleasant ride through the Vega Baja with a few stops along the way for only a few euros return. Tourist Information kiosk right outside the entrance to Alicante station.

THERMAL SPAS

There are two spa resorts offering all the facilities associated with thermal waters, the Leana Spa at Fortuna and the Archena Spa. Both are easily accessible by car.

GUADALEST

A spectacular location with stunning views makes Guadalest one of Spains most popular tourist attractions. Driving up through the winding mountain roads is in itself ‘quite interesting’.

FONTS D’ALGAR

Situated just outside Callosa d’En Sarrìa, the Fonts d’Algar are a series of springs, waterfalls, and pools. Different paths to explore and a cool, refreshing dip for the brave.

CARREFOUR SUPERSTORE

The store with everything under one roof. The Carrefour in Torrevieja is ever popular, try the one in Elche which is not so busy.
